Wigan’s victory was nothing short of spectacular. Shaun Maloney’s side took control early, and Dale Taylor opened the scoring in the 18th minute. After some brilliant work by Thelo Aasgaard to set him up, Taylor’s clinical finish left Bolton’s goalkeeper Nathan Baxter with no chance.
The Latics didn’t stop there. Midway through the second half, Thelo Aasgaard turned from provider to scorer, finishing superbly in front of the away end to seal the victory. The scenes in the stands were electric as the travelling fans celebrated a derby win to remember.
Wigan’s defense held firm throughout, with key tackles from Will Aimson and outstanding saves from Sam Tickle ensuring a clean sheet. This was a complete team performance, with every player stepping up to the challenge.
