Wigan Athletic were left frustrated at The Brick Community Stadium as Lincoln City snatched a point with a late penalty rebound in a dramatic 1-1 draw.
The Latics started brightly, with Dale Taylor going close early on. However, Lincoln almost stunned the home crowd when Tom Bayliss struck a brilliant free-kick off the crossbar.
A major setback came in the 25th minute when Silko Thomas was stretchered off after suffering a painful leg injury. But Wigan kept pushing, and they got their reward just before the break. Taylor won the ball high up the pitch and set up Jonny Smith, who slotted home a composed finish into the bottom corner.

Wigan looked set to take all three points, but controversy struck late on. With just two minutes remaining, James Carragher was penalised for holding in the box, gifting Lincoln a penalty. Sam Tickle produced a brilliant save to deny Danny Mandroiu, but the rebound fell kindly for the Lincoln man, who made no mistake at the second time of asking.
