Match Overview / Performance Analysis
It was a stale affair at the Brick Community Stadium this afternoon as Wigan faced Stevenage, and neither side really were able to get going and create that spark. The score was 0-0, a result that moves Wigan down to 17th, and Stevenage move to 2nd in the Sky Bet League One table.
Performance
The match started very well for Wigan, with some aggressive wingplay from Fraser Murray & Raphael Borges, which created a quick tempo, and some decent chances, giving the fans something to get behind, but that few minutes were short-lived, and Wigan were soon back to their normal ways, sloppiness and a lack of creativity was the basis for the majority of Wigan’s first half. The second half was really no better, and with no subs made they’re was quite literally zero improvement from Wigan’s point of view, in regards to Stevenage, they did not play like a side top of the table at the time of kick off, and quite frankly they should of been better, as we were not good at all today.

Sam Tickle: 7/10 – Saved us a few times today, and did his job very well, the main reason we were able to keep a clean sheet.
Will Aimson: 6.5/10 – He wasn’t to bad today, did an average job at the back.
Jason Kerr: 6/10 – Kerr wasn’t great today, he could of done better, he wasn’t his usual self today
Morgan Fox: 6.5/10 – Again, not to bad, did the basics well enough.
Tyrese Francois: 6.5/10 – Tyrese tried to be creative today, and did a good job playing in that CDM role.
Jensen Weir: 7/10 – Had a really good 2 halves, came close to scoring twice, Wigan’s best player today in my opinion.
Callum Wright: 6/10 – Just lacked that spark today.
Fraser Murray: 6.5/10 – Did a decent job today, was very good within that first few minutes of the first half.
Raphael Borges Rodrigues: 6.5/10 – Similar to Murray’s observation.
Christian Saydee: 6/10 – Worst performance so far in a Latics shirt for me I’m afraid.
Dara Costelloe: 5.5/10 – Not good enough at all today, he was so weak/poor when it came to closing down players and moving forward.
