Wigan hopeful of getting a result over promotion favourites!
Wigan head to Adams Park in the hope of securing what would be a statement result against promotion favourites.
Wycombe’s form has consisted of 2 wins and 3 draws in their last 5 games, and it’s fair to say that manager, Mike Dodds has done justice since the departure of former gaffer, Matt Bloomfield. With players such as joint top-scorer Richard Kone who sits on 16 goals in 28 games, and also Cameron Humphreys and Garath McCleary who have both provided 13 assists between them. Two other players to watch out for are Centre back Caleb Taylor and winger Bez Lubala, who both run the risk of suspension if either of the pair pick up another yellow card. As for injuries, Wycombe have no reported injured players at the time of writing.
On the other hand, Wigan’s form has consisted of 1 win, 2 draws, & 2 defeats in their last 5, and it’s fair to say that the current form really sums up Wigan’s struggles this season, with a lack of consistency. Notable in form player, is Nottingham Forest loanee, Dale Taylor, who sits on 7 goal contributions in 27 games, joint with Wycombe’s Cameron Humphreys.
As for injuries, Wigan’s current list of injured players sits at:
- Joe Adams (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) Expected return – August 2025
- Tyrese Francois (Ankle Ligament Tear) Expected return – April 2025
- Dion Rankine (Hamstring Injury) Expected return – April 2025
- Matt Smith (Hamstring Injury) Expected return – April 2025
- Luke Chambers (Back Injury) Expected Return – Unknown
- Kai Payne (Torn Knee Ligament) Expected Return – March 2025
Prediction: As for my prediction, I’m saying, Wycombe 2-1 Wigan. Based on Wycombe’s form & quality it really will push Wigan to the limit, and based on the recent form, I can’t see them getting a draw and nor a win.
