Wigan

Wigan seeking revenge on the Terriers!

Wigan welcome Huddersfield to the Brick! And after a poor run of form, a result here would be huge!

Wigan’s form has consisted of 2 defeats and 3 draws in their last 5 games. The form isn’t the most inspiring and there is plenty of room for improvement, but these are the sort of games in which the Latics’s usually go against the odds. After Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Adams Park vs Wycombe Wanderers it’s fair to say we did very well against a promotion chasing team. The most notable performers of the match, were undoubtedly, Sam Tickle, Jason Kerr & Jon Mellish, who all did their bit to ensure we kept a clean sheet!

As for Huddersfield, the Terrier’s form sits at 2 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw, in their last 5 matches. The form is fairly decent, but for a side chasing a playoff spot, they will want more urgency in the coming months. After Saturday’s 0-1 defeat to Peterborough on home turf, Michael Duff’s side were certainly left feeling humiliated, losing to a heavily out of form side. Notable performers were, Goalkeeper Lee Nichols, former wigan youth, and Left back Josh Ruffels, who put in a fairly decent shift.

Predicted Lineups:

Wigan

Formation: 4-2-3-1 – Tickle; Sibbick, Kerr, Aimson, Mellish; Norburn, Weir; J Smith, Darcy, Dale; Taylor

Huddersfield

Formation: 4-4-2 – Nicholls; Sorensen, Turton, Lonwijk, Ruffels; Evans, Kasumu, Hodge, Chirewa; Marshall, Koroma

Prediction: I’m saying Wigan 1 – 1 Huddersfield. Time and time again Wigan prove they are more than capable of getting a result over higher placed sides. With that in mind, were more than capable than sharing the points.
