Wigan Athletic players Toby Sibbick and Dale Taylor have recently received international call-ups, reflecting their impressive performances at the club level.
Toby Sibbick
Toby Sibbick was called up to the Uganda national team for the first time in March 2024. Qualifying to represent Uganda through his mother, Sibbick made his debut in a 2–2 draw with Ghana on 27 March 2024.
Dale Taylor
Dale Taylor, a forward on loan from Nottingham Forest, continues to attract attention after his stellar campaign with Wigan. Taylor has now been recalled to the Northern Ireland senior squad for their upcoming March friendlies, having previously featured in the U21 setup. Taylor made his senior international debut in November 2021 in a 1–0 World Cup qualifier victory over Lithuania.
What makes Taylor’s call-up even more impressive is his contribution to Wigan this season. The 20-year-old has been directly involved in 50% of Latics’ league goals — a higher contribution rate than any other player across the entire EFL. His goals and assists have been instrumental in keeping Wigan above the drop zone, and his call-up is a testament to his outstanding form.
Both Sibbick and Taylor will now have the chance to showcase their talent on the international stage, bringing further recognition to themselves and Wigan Athletic.
